Our Support Services

Training and Consultancy

Alzheimer’s Society provides expert and affordable training and consultancy services to organisations and businesses across all sectors, helping them to become more dementia friendly.

We train health and social care staff directly responsible for delivering dementia care and support, as well as staff in businesses who may come into contact with people living with dementia.

Our training programmes are based on best practice in dementia care, putting people living with dementia at the centre. We equip staff with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to provide person-centred care and support people affected by dementia to live well.

Outdoor activitiescaring for people with dementia

Spending time outdoors is proven to have physical and mental health benefits for people of all ages and backgrounds. Our new Outdoor Activities project aims to provide supportive opportunities for people living with dementia and their carers to spend time outdoors doing activities that they enjoy.

The activity groups will be delivered in varied locations across Chester and in Winsford. They will operate weekly on regular days and times and will be a group of up to 12 people.

These groups will be your groups, and you will be an integral part of co-designing the activities programme. Activities include; nature walks, outdoor photography and gardening, plus so much more.

If you are a business/group who would like to discuss working with us, then please contact

Art Activitiesdementia services

Studies have shown that art engagement can benefit people living with dementia and their carers, and we are keen to engage people in the arts. We will be creating new sessions and joining together with existing arts groups in Chester and Winsford to enable them to become more dementia friendly.

As part of the project, we would like to hear from people living with dementia and their carers to find out what sort of activities they would like to get involved in. We can then plan arts workshops, cultural trips and exhibition opportunities that inspire learning and creativity, encourage friendships and community engagement.

We will provide a range of different types of arts activities based on feedback from people with dementia and their carers.

If you are a creative organisation that would like to become more dementia friendly or if you would like to make any suggestions as to what art service you would like on offer then please get in touch with: brightmemories@cheshireandwarringtoncarers.org

Share your thoughts

We are seeking the opinions of people with dementia and their carers, so that we can better understand what challenges they face in order to engage well with local communities. You are the experts, so please get in touch with us to share your thoughts and suggestions.
